Russia leads in supplies of enriched uranium to South Korea
Russia has managed to retain its status of the main exporter of enriched uranium to South Korea by the end of 2024.
The Russian side even managed to increase the volume of supplies of this resource to South Korea up to 48.5% of all imports of the buyer side, Caliber.Az reports, citing Statistics Korea.
It is specified that supplies of enriched uranium rose to $649.5 million, which is almost twice as much as a year earlier.
Canada with 18.3 per cent ($244.3 million) and Australia with 13.3 per cent ($177.3 million) were among the top three exporters of this element.
To recall, between 2020 and 2024, Russia had been a significant supplier of enriched uranium to South Korea, providing approximately 32% of the country's nuclear fuel imports.
