Media: Around 180 aid trucks enter Gaza
Nearly 180 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid entered the Gaza Strip on July 24.
The Egyptian Red Crescent has stepped up its readiness to facilitate the entry of these aid convoys, which include essential items such as flour, food, and medical supplies. The trucks passed through the Zikim crossing in northern Gaza and the Kerem Shalom crossing in the south, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
The humanitarian situation in Gaza remains dire, with residents facing acute shortages of food, medicine, and electricity, alongside extensive infrastructure damage. These conditions have intensified calls from the international community urging the swift and unhindered passage of relief aid.
Earlier this week, UN Secretary General António Guterres said Gaza's 2.1 million population is facing grave shortages of basic supplies, malnutrition is "soaring" and "starvation is knocking on every door" in Gaza.
Egypt, alongside Qatar, continues to play a key role in mediating and coordinating the flow of assistance through the designated border crossings.
