Iran presidential adviser says country has gained global standing despite war damage
Yousef Pezeshkian, an adviser and son of Iran’s president, has said that while Iran has suffered significant damage during the ongoing conflict, it has also strengthened its international standing.
In comments posted on his Telegram channel, he described mixed outcomes from the war, which began with U.S. and Israeli strikes on February 28, and warned that its final result remains uncertain, Iran International reports.
“Iran has been harmed economically due to infrastructure damage and in management capacity due to the loss of its best forces, but in terms of credibility and global position it has so far benefited,” he wrote in a post on his Telegram channel.
Pezeshkian urged the public to prepare for multiple possible outcomes as the conflict continues.
“We should prepare ourselves for the worst-case scenario… so we are not caught off guard,” he wrote, adding that people should also “live in the present” and avoid tying their well-being to uncertain future events.
He said that considering both negative and positive scenarios could help society better cope with the uncertainty surrounding the war.
