Israel welcomes Azerbaijan's decision to open embassy in Tel Aviv

Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid has said that Azerbaijan is an important partner of Israel and home to one of the largest Jewish communities in the Muslim world.

He welcomed Baku's decision to open an embassy in Israel, saying in a tweet that "the decision to open an embassy reflects the depth of relations between the two countries. This step is the outcome of the efforts of the Israeli government to build strong political bridges with the Muslim world".

Lapid also thanked Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and congratulated the Azerbaijani people, who will be represented in Israel at the embassy level for the first time.
