Israeli troops reach Litani River, engage Hezbollah militants VIDEO
Israeli military units have advanced to the Litani River, a key boundary marked by UN Resolution 1701, which prohibits Hezbollah fighters from crossing it.
The move comes as part of ongoing operations to secure the region and neutralize threats posed by militant groups, Caliber.Az reports citing Israeli media.
The area surrounding the Litani River is heavily fortified with military infrastructure. Israeli soldiers are currently engaged in clearing the valley of hostile forces, targeting weapons depots and rocket launchers that have been positioned to strike Israeli territory. These operations have involved close-quarter combat with Hezbollah militants entrenched in the mountainous terrain.
Meanwhile, another Israeli combat team, consisting of a brigade of commandos, is operating in the Wadi Saluki creek area, a historically significant site that saw intense clashes during the Second Lebanon War.
Located approximately 12 kilometers west of Metula, the area has been a focal point of ongoing military activity. During recent operations, Israeli forces seized hundreds of weapons and dismantled numerous rocket launchers and bunkers scattered across the wadi.
