Italian parliamentarians explore Azerbaijan's ASAN service model Photo
A delegation from the Italian Parliament, consisting of members from the Italy-Azerbaijan Friendship Group, visited the ASAN service (state agency for public services) Centre on April 30 to learn about the operations of Azerbaijan's pioneering public service platform.
Public Relations Department of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan stated that the delegation was given a comprehensive overview of the agency's activities, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
This included a focus on ASAN service centres, which were established under the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev, and the social innovation projects that the agency is advancing.
The visit also highlighted the agency's international acclaim, with the United Nations awarding the State Agency in 2015 for its excellence in public services, and granting it a special award in 2019 for advancing digital governance in public service.
Additionally, in 2023, the agency received the prestigious "Global Government Excellence" award, recognising it as the "world's most advanced public service."
The delegation praised the innovative approach of the ASAN service, expressing their admiration for the groundbreaking developments and the positive impact these initiatives have made.
The visitors also toured the INNOLAND Incubation and Acceleration Centre, as well as the public legal entity ABAD, further showcasing Azerbaijan's commitment to fostering innovation and efficient public service delivery.
