Kazan BRICS summit set to host top leaders, Vucic says
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced after a meeting with Russian Ambassador Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko that he had received the list of participants for the upcoming BRICS summit in Kazan.
Vucic highlighted that the summit will include representatives from “strong, powerful, and significant” nations, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
“I want to emphasize that our discussions with Ambassador Botsan-Kharchenko covered all key issues of bilateral importance and mutual interest. I briefed the Ambassador on the situation in Kosovo and Metohija,” Vucic told reporters following the meeting.
“We also discussed the invitation to the major BRICS summit, which Serbia and I personally received. The list of participants I saw is impressive, featuring exceptionally strong and influential countries. As a gesture of thanks for the invitation, I’ve shared everything I know with the Ambassador,” the President added.
Vucic also noted that their discussions included economic cooperation matters, such as the construction of the Russian Railways dispatch centre.
“We talked about what is significant for us, including our collaboration within the UN and other international organizations. I believe that soon we will demonstrate that there are topics aligning with the interests of both sides where we can reach agreements. I also stressed the urgent need to accelerate negotiations on the gas supply agreement,” Vucic concluded.
