Moscow's Patriarch Kirill arrives in Azerbaijan to boost religious, cultural relations
Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia arrived in Baku, Azerbaijan, on May 3, for an official visit.
At Heydar Aliyev International Airport, the Patriarch was welcomed by Bishop Alexy of Baku and Azerbaijan, Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Yevdokimov, and Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations of Azerbaijan Sahib Naghiyev, Caliber.Az reports via press service of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia.
This visit marks a significant diplomatic and religious engagement, highlighting the ongoing relations between Russia and Azerbaijan, particularly in the context of religious and cultural cooperation. Patriarch Kirill’s visit is expected to strengthen the ties between the Russian Orthodox Church and the local Christian community in Azerbaijan.
