Official: No tangible results in normalisation of Armenia-Türkiye ties yet

Chairman of the Armenian National Assembly Alen Simonyan has said that establishing peace in the region is the goal of the country.

Only an open and constructive dialogue can lay a foundation for lasting peace, security and steady development in the region, Simonyan said at the May 18 meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation's (CSTO) Parliamentary Assembly Council in Minsk, news.am reports.

"Since last year Armenia and Türkiye launched a process of normalisation of relations in the framework of which certain agreements have been reached, but there are still no tangible results and many issues remain unresolved. We believe that the settlement process should be without preconditions," he noted.
