Orthodox clergy lay flowers at Alley of Martyrs for January 20 victims

Religious leaders and representatives of various faith communities in Azerbaijan took part in a memorial ceremony  to mark the Day of National Mourning, commemorating the victims of the January 20, 1990 tragedy.

According to the press service of the Baku and Azerbaijan Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church, participants, including Bishop Alexy (Smirnov) of Baku and Azerbaijan, laid flowers at the graves of the victims at the Alley of Martyrs in the capital, paying tribute to their memory, Caliber.Az reports. 

As part of the observance, prayers were offered in all churches of the Baku Diocese for the repose of the souls of those who were killed during the events of January 20, 1990.
