Russian leader sends greetings to Azerbaijani counterpart on Novruz, promises future growth of ties
Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended warm congratulations to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of Novruz, the cherished Spring Festival, highlighting the growing partnership between the two nations.
In a letter shared by Azerbaijan’s press service, Putin expressed his sincere wishes for the holiday, Caliber.Az reports.
"Please accept my most sincere congratulations on the occasion of Novruz – the Spring Festival," the Russian leader wrote.
Putin emphasized the positive trajectory of Russia-Azerbaijan relations, noting, "Russia-Azerbaijan relations are successfully developing in the spirit of partnership and alliance. I am confident that through our joint efforts, we will continue to actively strengthen mutually beneficial bilateral ties — for the benefit of our friendly nations and in the interest of enhancing security and stability in the South Caucasus and the Caspian region."
The Russian president also conveyed his personal wishes for Aliyev's health and success, stating, "I sincerely wish you, dear Ilham Heydarovich, good health and success on this bright festive day, along with happiness and prosperity for all the citizens of Azerbaijan."
Novruz, a festival that holds deep cultural and historical significance, marks the arrival of spring and symbolizes rebirth, prosperity, and unity. The celebration, observed on March 21st, is rooted in ancient traditions and is enjoyed across several countries, including Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, and others. It is a public holiday in multiple nations and is particularly important in Turkic-speaking communities.
