Slovak ombudsman visits migrant centre in Baku
A delegation led by the Ombudsman of Slovakia, Robert Dobrovodský, has visited the Baku City Temporary Accommodation Centre for Illegal Migrants.
The visit was conducted with the participation of representatives from the Office of the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports, citing the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan.
During the visit, Deputy Head of the State Migration Service, Adviser of the Second Rank Elman Aliyev, provided the delegation with detailed information on the centre’s operations, which function in line with modern standards.
The Slovak delegation was briefed on the procedures for reception and accommodation of migrants, as well as on their rights and responsibilities while staying at the facility. Information was also provided on living conditions, including residential units, medical rooms, dining areas, and recreational spaces.
The visitors additionally observed the centre’s infrastructure and met with individuals currently accommodated there.
