Special Representative urges focus on climate, health financing ahead of COP

Majid Al Suwaidi, the COP28 Director-General, Director General and Special Representative of COP28, emphasized the critical importance of prioritizing both climate and health financing during his address at the annual global summit "Forecasting Healthy Futures" in Baku.

Al Suwaidi underscored the necessity for concerted efforts among nations to achieve collective goals and foster solidarity in tackling pressing global challenges, Caliber.Az reports citing local media.

"We must work towards realizing adequate financing for climate initiatives as well as health priorities," he asserted.

His remarks at the summit highlighted the interconnectedness between climate change and public health outcomes, stressing the need for robust financial mechanisms to support resilience-building and adaptation strategies worldwide.
