Tourism takes flight as Gabala welcomes first direct flight from UAE
Today marked a significant milestone in Azerbaijan’s aviation and tourism sectors as the very first direct flight from Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, touched down at Gabala International Airport.
Operated by Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air, this newly launched route between Abu Dhabi and Gabala promises to open fresh avenues for travellers and strengthen ties between the two regions, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The airline plans to operate flights three times a week — every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday — offering greater convenience and accessibility.
The introduction of this direct connection is expected to play a vital role in boosting tourist traffic to Gabala and surrounding areas, enhancing Azerbaijan’s appeal as an attractive travel destination for visitors from the Gulf and beyond.
