Turkish Foreign Minister affirms Iran's right to self-defence Amid regional tensions

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan voiced support for Iran's right to defend its territory in the event of a hypothetical conflict with Israel.

In an interview with Turkish media, Fidan remarked, "We are by no means in favour of any conflict involving Iran that could escalate into war, Caliber.Az reports.

We strongly oppose such scenarios. However, if Iran engages in self-defence, that is undoubtedly its right."

Fidan highlighted Türkiye's commitment to its national interests amid the rising tensions in the region. He stated that Ankara is prepared to maintain its position, even if faced with pressure from Washington.
