Ongoing regional tensions prompt Wizz Air to halt Israel flights for three more months
Hungarian Wizz Air airline, which had previously suspended flights to Tel Aviv, Israel, has extended its moratorium for three months, until January 14.
"Amid the ongoing situation in the region, Wizz Air is temporarily halting flights to and from Tel Aviv," the company stated, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Wizz Air representatives noted that affected passengers are being offered compensation in the form of Wiz Credits or ticket refunds, as well as free flight changes.
Many airlines are hesitant to resume flights to Israel, despite the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) lifting its warning regarding the risks to civil aircraft.
Air Seychelles, the national carrier of the Seychelles, unexpectedly canceled its flight to Israel. It is unclear when the airline plans to resume flights to Israel.
