Unknown drone crashes near Bundeswehr base outside Hannover

An unidentified drone has crashed near a Bundeswehr military base outside Hannover, Germany, prompting a major police response, German newspaper Bild reports.

According to the report, the drone came down in an area without residential buildings. A large number of police officers were dispatched to the scene following the incident.

Authorities are currently searching the area for fragments of the unmanned aerial vehicle as part of an investigation into the crash.

The ownership of the drone and the identity of its operator remain unknown.
