Azerbaijan completes overhaul of Alat-Astara-Iran border highway section Boosting safety, transportation efficiency/VIDEO
The State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads has successfully completed the overhaul of a section of the Alat-Astara highway, which extends from the 217th to the 243rd kilometer, near the Iran border.
The 26-kilometer stretch has been upgraded to meet the 3rd technical category standards, with the road width expanded to 12 meters, Caliber.Az reports.
The renovation project included extensive excavation, the installation of new asphalt concrete pavement, and the construction of essential infrastructure.
Additionally, significant repairs were made to the bridges over the Pensarchay, Erjivanchay, and Astarachay rivers, further enhancing the roadway's capabilities.
The completion of this reconstruction project is expected to ensure the safe movement of citizens while facilitating both cargo and passenger transportation across this vital corridor.
