Passengers asked to evacuate Heathrow airport terminal following reports of fire
A terminal at London's Heathrow Airport had to be evacuated in the morning hours of July 25 following incoming reports of a fire.
The administration of Europe's largest airport confirmed this incident on social media, responding to worried passengers, Caliber.Az reports citing The Mirror.
According to their article, parts of Terminal 3 had been temporarily evacuated as the local fire service is investigating a fire alarm.
While the investigation was being carried out, passengers reported long queues and the baggage claim area being closed down while staff responded to the alarm.
A spokesperson for the airport told the British media outlet that "the incident has now been stood down. We apologise for any disruption caused to journeys.”
The airport serving the London area is the largest airport in Europe, with more than 200,000 passengers passing through every day.
