Turkish president awards Azerbaijani writer

Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has granted the Turkish “Necip Fazil Literature Prize” to Azerbaijani writer Elchin Afandiyev in an awarding ceremony at Istanbul's Ataturk Cultural Centre.

During his speech, Erdogan noted that Elchin Afandiyev won the love of readers with his stories and novels translated into many languages, Caliber.Az reports.

"The presentation of this award is particularly noteworthy at a time when sincerity and solidarity of Turkish-Azerbaijani friendship are an example across the world. I congratulate E.Afandiyev, I am sure he will continue to be one of the flagships of our friendship in culture and science", the president said.
