Türkiye detains over 2,000 illegal migrants in 27 provinces VIDEO
Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has said that over 2,000 illegal migrants were detained during the operation of law enforcers in 27 provinces of Türkiye.
"Eighty smugglers and 2,155 illegal migrants were detained during Kalkan-7 operations conducted in 27 provinces,"Caliber.Az quotes Yerlikaya as saying on his X page on January 8.

According to the minister, six organisers of migrant smuggling have been arrested and the operations will continue.
The Turkish Interior Ministry has recently been actively fighting illegal migration by periodically organising checks in different provinces of the country.
