Ukraine: Peace talks with Russia mean defeat of Ukraine, Europe
Ukraine now has no motives to conduct peace negotiations with Russia, since the very fact of such negotiations will mean the victory of Russia.
Mikhail Podolyak, the adviser to the head of the President's Office, thinks so, Kommersant reports.
“Negotiations with the Russian Federation today will mean only one thing: that Russia has won. This is a recorded defeat of Ukraine, a defeat of Europe, of democratic values as such,” Podolyak said in an interview with Babel, commenting on the opinion of Timothy Ash, a British expert on Ukraine, who believes that peace negotiations can resume in autumn 2022.
Mikhail Podolyak believes that negotiations between Russia and Ukraine could "fix a civilizational catastrophe", and after the start of these negotiations, "the fall of the entire global security system" will follow. According to him, Ukraine has already paid a high price, and it is "much higher than the possibility of a ceasefire today."
