US warns Hungary of potential armed action Planned for 1956 uprising anniversary
The United States has alerted Hungary to a potential armed action against its government, coinciding with the anniversary of the 1956 revolution.
Diplomatic sources indicate that US intelligence provided Hungarian authorities with information suggesting that certain individuals may be planning this action for October 23, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
The warning was issued approximately two weeks ago. Recent developments include the detention of a group of young men by Hungary's counter-terrorism unit in a Budapest pub, where strikeball weapons were seized.
However, it remains unclear if these arrests are connected to the US intelligence report. As of now, the Hungarian government and its intelligence services have not commented on the situation.
