Houthi rebels claim to have struck Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion airport, container ship VIDEO
Houthi rebels of the Ansar Allah movement claim to have succesfully struck Israel's Ben Gurion Airport on December 27, stating to have caused casualties and air traffic interruptions.
This statement was proclaimed by the military spokesperson of the Yemeni militants, Yahya Sari, as reported by Caliber.Az citing the Al Masirah television channel.
Sari claims that a Palestine-2 hypersonic missile "successfully reached its target", accusing Israel of concealing the scale of the event.
Spokesperson Sari additionally claims that drones successfully attacked an Israeli civilian vessel, the "Santa Ursula" in the Arabian Sea, east of Socotra.
The Iran-backed rebels explained that the vessel was targeted s the cruise company violated the prohibition of entering Palestinian ports.
According to Israeli media, the IDF said the Houthi missile was successfully downed by air defenses outside of Israel's territory, and there were no reports of impacts at the airport. Flight arrivals were reportedly halted for 30 minutes, with a statement published on Ben Gurion Airport's website currently stating that all airport activity is working as planned including departures and landings.
Videos appearing on social media show interceptors in action over central Israel. The alarms were triggered due to the risk of debris falling.

The apparent attack on the airport and vessel follows a string of repeated ballistic missile and drone attacks fired from Yemen on Israel in recent weeks. Israeli leaders, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz have made calls for the rebels to halt the near-daily attacks on Israeli soil, threatening to "keep pounding" the group and "hunt down” its leaders.
