Russian astronomer reports possible UFO sighting in Omsk region

An astronomer in Russia’s Omsk region has reported observing an unidentified flying object during night-sky observations near a rural camp, according to a post shared on social media.

Vladimir Krupko, head of the Omsk Planetarium, said he captured photographs of the object while working in the area of the “Agat” camp in the Nizhneomsky District.

He described the object as moving above the camp before shifting position.

“Above the camp, the UFO was constantly circling. As soon as it noticed it was being filmed, it moved slightly further south,” Krupko wrote on his VKontakte page.

Krupko did not offer an explanation for the phenomenon, and no independent verification of the object has been provided.

The observations took place during a scheduled astronomical study session involving the apparent close approach of Venus, the Moon and Jupiter.

Krupko noted that weather conditions initially hampered viewing, with clouds obscuring parts of the sky and preventing clear observation of Jupiter near the horizon.
