Ukraine announces destruction of bridge near Armiansk in annexed Crimea

Ukraine's Special Operations Forces said on June 23 that a railway bridge spanning the North Crimean Canal in Crimea had been destroyed.

In a statement, the forces announced that the bridge "no longer exists" and described the development as an urgent update, Caliber.Az reports. 

“Apologies, but we have an official urgent update: the railway bridge across the North Crimean Canal in Crimea no longer exists,” the statement said.

The Special Operations Forces added that “the first one has gone,” without providing further details.

The announcement follows reports that the bridge across the North Crimean Canal near the city of Armiansk had sustained critical damage on June 19.
