Ukrainian anti-corruption court seizes assets of deputy PM Oleksiy Kuleba
Ukraine’s High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) has ordered the seizure of assets belonging to Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Ukraine’s Reconstruction and Minister for Communities and Territories Development, the Anti-Corruption Action Centre has stated.
It said, on Telegram, that the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office requested the measure, Caliber.Az reports.
Prosecutors argue that Kuleba uses the property and has a real opportunity to influence his sister to ensure the assets cannot be confiscated in the future.
However, the arrest means the property can no longer be sold or used as collateral.
According to investigators, in 2021, Kuleba—then serving as First Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration—arranged preliminary purchase agreements for an apartment and parking space in Kyiv worth nearly $111,500 through his sister.
In 2023, while serving as Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, he reportedly facilitated the final purchase and state registration of the assets.
Investigators also claim that an analysis of official income and expenses of Kuleba and his family showed insufficient funds to acquire the property.
