Kyrgyzstan has proposed exchanging small sections of border territory with Kazakhstan to enable the construction of a planned toll motorway linking the capital Bishkek with the city of Kemin, officials said.
Presidential press secretary Askat Alagozov said the proposed exchange involves a section of around 800 metres in the Tokmok area along the shared border, Caliber.Az reports, citing Kyrgyz media.

He said the wider project envisions a roughly 150-kilometre highway designed to improve domestic transport links and logistics capacity.
Alagozov added that discussions on border-related issues required a “carefully balanced approach” and should not be politicised.
