IDF strikes Hezbollah infrastructure suspected to be used for weapon transfer on Syria-Lebanon border
Israeli Air Forces have launched strikes against what it states was infrastructure used by Hezbollah on the Syria-Lebanon border in the early hours of December 27.
This was confirmed in an announcement by the Israeli military press service, as Caliber.Az reports.
According to the statement, Israeli Air Force fighter jets hit sites at the Janta crossing, located in the Beqaa Valley of eastern Lebanon.
“The Hezbollah terror organization uses civilian infrastructure to carry out terror activity and to transfer weapons, which are intended to be used to carry out terror attacks against Israeli citizens,” the IDF said.
The statement indicates that the targeted sites were Hezbollah infrastructure facilities used by the logistical "Unit 4400," responsible for transporting weapons from Syria to Lebanon.
The IDF has underscored that the strike was intended to prevent the supply of weapons to Hezbollah and does therefore not constitute a violation of its ceasefire agreement with Lebanon.
