Zelenskyy: Ukraine struck eight Russian infrastructure sites VIDEO

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukrainian forces struck eight Russian infrastructure sites over a 24-hour period, including oil refineries in the Yamalo-Nenets region and a commercial seaport in Dagestan.

“Our warriors struck eight Russian infrastructure facilities working for the war over these 24 hours. Oil refineries in the Yamalo-Nenets region, as well as a commercial seaport in Dagestan, were hit. Facilities in the Moscow, Voronezh, Astrakhan and Bryansk regions were also targeted.

Russia continues its terror against Ukraine every day. And every day it receives a just response. I thank every warrior and everyone who ensures our long-range capabilities and precision,” Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram.

He attached video footage to the post.

The statement followed a Ukrainian drone attack on Sept. 9 that reached the Yamalo-Nenets region for the first time. Russian authorities said a drone attack on an industrial facility in Novy Urengoy was repelled, but falling debris caused a fire. Yamalo-Nenets Governor Dmitry Artyukhov said there were no casualties and that the extent and nature of the damage were being assessed.

Novy Urengoy is located about 2,800-3,000 kilometres from Ukraine and is a major center of Russia’s natural gas industry. The attack marked the first reported Ukrainian drone strike in the region.

Earlier on September 10, authorities in Dagestan confirmed a fire at the port of Makhachkala and at the Avar Music and Drama Theatre following a drone attack. No casualties were reported.

The Makhachkala port was also identified as a likely target in reports based on footage and open-source analysis, although the full extent of the damage was initially unclear.
