US warns Israel against population displacement in southern Gaza
The administration of US President Joe Biden has warned Israel against "further significant displacement" of civilians in the southern Gaza Strip.
Washington said the Israeli military would have to operate with "greater precision" in the southern Gaza Strip than it did in the north if the ground operation continued, Associated Press reports, citing US officials.
US administration officials also indicated that they expect the Israeli side to conduct operations in such a way that humanitarian aid facilities, UN-affiliated bomb shelters and other infrastructure, including for electricity and water, can continue to function.
In addition, the White House said the US will send a plane to Egypt on November 28 with the first of three humanitarian aid shipments, which will include medicine, food and winter clothing for Gaza's civilian population.
