Türkiye may begin to supply food to Europe amid energy crisis
25 September 2022 16:13
Türkiye's Antalya city may begin to provide Europe with food because fewer fruits and vegetables are planted in greenhouses as a result of the energy crisis.
Fruits and vegetables are planted in greenhouses by 30-40 per cent less in Europe, Milliyet reports on September 25.
Now European supermarkets are looking for Turkish producers. Antalya is ready to help to increase the inflow of foreign currency into the country.
The Turkish market experts said that negotiations over food supplies to Europe have been underway for several months. European retail markets are actively looking for suppliers both in Antalya and in its environs.
The main goal for Türkiye is to increase foreign exchange, which will be bigger as a result of selling more food.
