Georgian PM claims opposition "completely destroyed" Due to lack of public support
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has declared that the opposition in Georgia "no longer exists," claiming it has lost all public support.
“We can clearly see the attitude of Georgian society towards political processes and political actors," Caliber.Az quotes Kobakhidze as saying in an interview with broadcaster Imedi.
"This attitude is reflected in the fact that the opposition has been completely destroyed.”
He asserted that opposition parties have been left without any backing from the Georgian people and emphasised that the government's key priority remains aligned with the will of the population.
Kobakhidze also recalled that over the past four years, there had been four attempted revolutions in the country, all of which he claimed were “orchestrated from abroad.”
He praised Georgian society for resisting these efforts and safeguarding the nation’s independence and sovereignty.
The remarks come amid heightened political tensions ahead of upcoming parliamentary elections.
