One dead, several missing as migrant boat capsizes near Türkiye's Izmir video

A migrant boat sank off the coast of Türkiye’s Izmir province, where coast guard teams successfully rescued 37 people.

According to Caliber.Az, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the incident on Facebook.

The sinking occurred in the Dikili district. In addition to the 37 individuals who were pulled from the water alive, one migrant was recovered dead.

Preliminary information indicates that the vessel had 45 people on board. The fate of seven migrants remains unknown, and search and rescue operations are continuing.

A Turkish Coast Guard helicopter, TCSG-502, has also been deployed to support the effort.
