Kremlin: Russia awaits new round of talks with Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin has told US President Donald Trump that Moscow is awaiting confirmation of the date for a third round of direct negotiations with Ukraine, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on July 4.
“The president informed his American counterpart that we are now awaiting the agreement on dates for the third round of direct talks,” Peskov said commenting on the phone call between the two presidents, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
The second round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine was held on June 2. During that meeting, both sides exchanged draft memorandums aimed at reaching a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict. They also agreed on the exchange of severely wounded prisoners of war and the repatriation of the bodies of deceased soldiers.
