Georgian oil re-exports to Ukraine hit $614,000 as trade expands

25 July 2026 16:55

Georgia significantly expanded its re-export of crude oil and petroleum products to Ukraine during the first six months of 2026, shipping 522.4 metric tons — a 3.3-fold increase compared to the same period in 2025, according to official data released by the National Statistics Office of Georgia and reported by TASS on July 25, 2026.

The total monetary value of petroleum re-exports destined for Ukraine reached $614,100 in the January–June period.

Despite the sharp percentage increase in shipments to Kyiv, Armenia remains Georgia’s primary re-export market for oil products, receiving 14,200 metric tons during the first half of the year. Azerbaijan ranked second with 1,800 metric tons, followed by Ukraine (522.4 metric tons), Mongolia (203.9 metric tons), Peru (115 metric tons), and Romania (63 metric tons).

To support its domestic market and transit trade, Georgia imported a total of 904,200 metric tons of oil and petroleum products valued at $811.8 million during the six-month period.

Russia maintained its position as Georgia’s leading foreign supplier, delivering 365.8 thousand metric tons. The remaining primary exporters supplying the Georgian market during the period included Romania, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, and Belarus.
