Drone strike sparks fires and damage in Russia’s Belgorod region VIDEO
Russia’s Belgorod region came under what local authorities described as a large-scale drone attack, resulting in infrastructure damage and multiple fires across the area.
Acting regional governor Alexander Shuvaev said emergency services were responding to incidents at several locations. “On the streets there is damage and fire outbreaks, which are being extinguished by firefighting crews,” he said. He did not provide a total number of casualties but said those injured had been taken to medical facilities.
Regional officials later confirmed that one person was wounded in a drone strike on the “5 Zvezd” shopping centre.
Local media, citing eyewitnesses, reported that additional sites were affected, including warehouses operated by the Agro-Belogorye agricultural holding, the Yuzhnaya electrical substation, the Luch thermal power plant, and the Novy Belgorod residential district, along with other areas in the city and surrounding region.
