Tehran vows response after alleged Ukrainian attack on vessel in Caspian Sea
Tehran has warned that it reserves the right to take retaliatory measures against Ukraine following an alleged attack on an Iranian commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea, IRIB reports, citing a statement from the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran will firmly defend its national security and interests and will not leave attacks on the lives and property of its citizens unanswered," the ministry said.
Earlier, IRIB announced that Ukraine's chargé d'affaires in Tehran had been summoned to the Foreign Ministry, where he was handed a formal note of protest.
"He was presented with the Islamic Republic of Iran's strong protest over these hostile and criminal actions," the broadcaster quoted the ministry as saying.
