Passenger bus crash leaves 30 injured in Istanbul

At least 30 people were injured, including two in serious condition, after a passenger bus collided with a car and struck a roadside structure in Istanbul, Turkish authorities said.

The accident occurred in the Eyüpsultan district, on Yavedud Street in the Nişanca neighbourhood, according to state broadcaster TRT Haber.

Officials said the bus first collided with a passenger car before crashing into a pole carrying a road sign. Emergency services, including police, ambulances and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene.

Abdullah Emre Güner, head of Istanbul’s provincial health directorate, said all 30 injured individuals were given first aid at the site before being transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals.

Authorities said two of the injured were in serious condition. An investigation into the cause of the crash is expected.
