Iran rounds up Afghan mercenaries for Russia's war efforts Internal sources report to Caliber.Az
According to operational information received by Caliber.Az from reliable sources, Iran has begun to actively recruit mercenaries from Afghanistan to send them to the Russian war against Ukraine. The salary offered to recruits is $1,000 per month.
Earlier such attempts to recruit "soldiers of fortune" by the Iranian secret services were observed in Syria, however, due to the current situation there, where Western position and intelligence services have a strong presence, Iran was forced to abandon this idea and instead shifted its campaign to the chaos unfolding in Afghanistan.
Caliber.Az recalls, that the Iranian-Russian military cooperation has recently become systemic, namely the supply of drone and planned supply of missiles to Moscow, as well as the opening of an assembly plant of military kamikaze drones inside Russia, and the recruitment of Afghan mercenaries for the Russian military campaign against Ukraine marks another step in this direction.
