Georgian MP rules out any military asisstance to Ukraine

Georgia cannot and will not provide military assistance to Ukraine, but provides "unconditional political and humanitarian assistance beyond the scope and limits of its possibilities".

This has been reported by Georgia Online citing the Head of the parliamentary faction "Georgian Dream", Mamuka Mdinaradze.

His remarks followed the Ukrainian Temporary Chargé d'affaires in Georgia, Andrei Kasyanov, who said that despite numerous requests for the supply of arms and ammunition to Ukraine, there was no response from the government in Tbilisi.

Mdinaradze said that Kyiv supposedly strives for Georgia to act as a party to the conflict.

He stated, that "it is not in the interests of Georgia to become a party to Russia’s occupational war", adding that the country will support peace.

"When the representative of the country [Ukraine] says that Georgia should supply Ukraine with weapons and military equipment, it is obvious that they objectively do not have special expectations regarding the supply of special weapons or military equipment from Georgia. The message of this person is rather that Georgia should be recorded as a party to the military armed conflict, the rest of what he said was small defamatory messengers", Mdinaradze stressed.
