Turkish disaster management agency unveils new rescue details

The death toll from two devastating earthquakes that struck Turkish Kahramanmarash reached 12,391, with 62,914 people injured.
The data as of now on February 9 was shared by AFAD (Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency), TRT Haber reports.
Some 22,277 local and 5,709 international rescuers work in the region.
The total number of medical personnel working in the region has reached 110,571 people, including field personnel assigned from AFAD, police, gendarmerie, MSB, UMKE, ambulance crews, volunteers, local security groups and support groups.
In total, 5,557 pieces of equipment were sent to the disaster area, primarily excavators, tow trucks, cranes, bulldozers, trucks, water carriers, trailers, graders, sewage collectors and other construction equipment.
An air bridge was installed to transport personnel and supplies to the region using a total of 122 aircraft belonging to the Air Force, Ground Forces, Coast Guard and Gendarmerie Command.
In total, 22 ships, 20 by the Navy Command and two by the Coast Guard Command, were sent to the area to transport personnel, materials and evacuation.
AFAD, the Ministry of Family Affairs and Social Services and the Red Crescent sent 94,744 tents and 1,208,305 blankets to 10 provinces severely affected by the earthquake. The installation of 73,000d tents has been completed.
The Red Crescent Group, AFAD, MSB, gendarmerie and non-governmental organisations (IHH, Hayrat, Beşir, initiative associations) organised a total of 95 mobile kitchens, 79 catering vehicles, one free canteen, four mobile heating points, 39 field kitchens, one container kitchen and 86 official cars were sent to the region.
