Türkiye's Erdogan expects Iraq to recognise PKK as terrorist organisation

    REGION  22 March 2023 - 14:15

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said he expects Iraq to recognize the PKK as a terrorist organisation.

He made the relevant remarks at a press conference following a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad al-Sudani in Ankara, according to Report.

The event was attended by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and other ministers, as well as an Iraqi government delegation.

The Turkish leader expressed confidence that the parties will turn the development roadmap into a new Silk Road for the region.

"Türkiye has always stated that it is a true friend of the Iraqi people. The biggest defender of Iraq's territorial integrity is Türkiye," added.
