Canadian PM intends to send Russian An-124 to Ukraine
11 June 2023 18:00
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has said he would try to confiscate a Russian-owned Antonov-124 cargo plane for further transfer to Kyiv.
The plane was banned from Canada after it landed at Toronto Pearson International Airport in February 2022, Interfax reports.
Trudeau and Canadian Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland arrived in Kyiv earlier on June 10 for an unannounced visit.
As reported, in March, Volga-Dnepr Group's cargo airlines AirBridgeCargo and Atran suspended all flights amid anti-Russian sanctions. At the same time, the media reported about the arrest of several An-124s outside Russia, including in Toronto (Canada).
