Road from Armenia to Georgia shut down due to Debed River overflow
26 May 2024 18:00
The interstate road from Armenia to Georgia is closed in both directions due to the Debed River overflowing in Lori region.
According to the the Road Department of Armenia, heavy rains were the cause of heavy flooding, which caused destruction of the roadbed, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
Therefore, the department warned drivers that if they need to get to the border with Georgia, they should use other roads.
The agency advises drivers to bypass the M-6 highway on the Margara-Vanadzor-Tashir-RA border (M-3) and Yerevan-Gyumri-Georgian border (M-1) routes when traveling to the Georgian border.
