Russian attacks on Ukraine kill six, injure 28 over past day

Russian attacks across Ukraine killed six people and left at least 28 others injured over the past 24 hours, regional authorities reported.

The Ukrainian Air Force confirmed the downing of 57 out of 149 Shahed-type drones and other Russian aerial threats launched overnight. Despite this, 67 decoys evaded radar detection without causing damage, the Air Force stated, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.

Regional authorities from Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Donetsk, Sumy, and Cherkasy oblasts reported significant damage from the attacks. A drone strike on the city of Pavlohrad in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast killed one person and injured a 14-year-old girl. Two apartment buildings were damaged, and a fire broke out in one of them, according to Governor Serhii Lysak.

In Zhytomyr Oblast, Russian drones struck civilian infrastructure, damaging at least 15 private homes. One civilian was hospitalized following the attack, Governor Vitalii Bunechko reported.

In Sumy Oblast, two civilians were injured in separate incidents in the Shostka and Krasnopillia communities.

The situation in Donetsk Oblast worsened as Russian attacks killed four people and injured 17. Governor Vadym Filashkin confirmed casualties in the cities of Kostiantynivka, Novoekonomichne, and Zoria.

Odesa Oblast also saw casualties. A drone attack on a residential building injured a 35-year-old woman, who was hospitalized, the Odesa Oblast Prosecutor's Office confirmed.

In Kherson Oblast, Russian forces targeted 25 settlements, including the regional center of Kherson. One person was killed, and five others were injured, Governor Oleksandr Prokudin reported.

In Kharkiv Oblast, near Kupiansk, two people — a 61-year-old man and woman — were injured in a Russian strike, Governor Oleh Syniehubov confirmed.
