Azerbaijan, Albania strengthen economic ties UPDATED

Azerbaijan's Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov has met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy of Albania Belinda Balluku, signaling a strengthening of economic ties between the two nations.

The meeting underscored the pivotal role of close contacts between the two countries’ presidents in advancing interstate relations, highlighting the significance of mutual visits in fostering cooperation, the ministry told Caliber.Az.

The discussions centered on the recently signed agreement on economic cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania, which was hailed as a significant step towards enhancing relations across various sectors including trade, investment, energy, transportation, infrastructure, and ecology.

Both sides emphasized the importance of analyzing existing opportunities and fostering cooperation among business circles to further bilateral relations. Additionally, there was mutual interest in expanding collaboration in the field of tourism.

During the meeting, Jabbarov and Balluku exchanged views on joint economic initiatives, emphasized the importance of effective energy partnership, and discussed strategies to promote bilateral investments for mutual benefit.

"We discussed joint activities of our countries in the economic sphere, effective energy partnership and promotion of bilateral investments," the publication said.
