Armenian prosecutor general refuses to receive relatives of killed servicemen
REGION - 06 July 2022 - 15:53
Armenian Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan has refused to receive the relatives of the Armenian servicemen killed in the 44-day war in 2020.
He made excuses for refusal by saying that "there is no news yet, discussions are underway on the referral of the cases", Caliber.Az reports, citing the Armenian media.
As previously reported, relatives of servicemen who died in the 44-day war have been holding a protest in front of the Prosecutor's Office of Armenia. They demand that a criminal case under article 308 – abuse of official authority that caused serious consequences – be transferred to the Security Council, which is currently under investigation by the Investigative Committee.
The relatives have already submitted this demand to Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan at a meeting on June 30. They also demand the reclassification of the case under Article 299, the interrogation of Nikol Pashinyan and his involvement as a defendant.
