Armenians shell Azerbaijani positions near Shusha, Lachin MoD statement
At 22:45 on June 7, units of the Armenian armed forces from positions in the direction of the Garakilsa district’s Brun settlement opened small arms fire on the Azerbaijani army positions located in the direction of the Lachin district’s Ahmadli settlement.
At 07: 40 on June 8, members of illegal Armenian armed formations on the territory of Azerbaijan, where Russian peacekeepers are temporarily stationed, fired at the Azerbaijani army positions in the direction of Shusha city, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry press service.
"Our units have taken adequate response measures in these areas. In addition, members of illegal Armenian armed formations, under the guise of agricultural work, tried to establish long-term fortifications in front of the positions of our army located in the direction of the Khojaly district. As a result of the urgent measures taken by our units, the work was immediately suspended," the ministry said.
To recap, Armenia's armed forces and its illegal armed groups in Azerbaijan's internationally recognised Karabakh region continue to shell opposite positions against the background of a tight series of talks and meetings attended by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan that took place in various locations, which aim to normalise Baku-Yerevan relations.
