Azerbaijan Airlines to launch direct Shanghai-Baku flights PHOTO

Direct flights between Shanghai and Baku are set to be launched as part of efforts to increase tourist arrivals from China to Azerbaijan, Florian Sengstschmid, Azerbaijan Tourism Board Chairman, has stated.

Speaking at the event Unlocking Azerbaijan's Tourism Potential for Economic Growth and Diversification in Baku, he said starting next May, AZAL plans to begin operating flights on the Shanghai-Baku route, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

“Two months ago, Azerbaijan opened a tourism representative office in Beijing. We are also in talks with other Chinese airlines regarding direct flights. China is a priority market for us," Sengstschmid noted.
